Welcome to The Mira
GEM Health Care began their transformation of how long term care is delivered in Nova Scotia with their new design and construction of The Mira in Truro. This 90 bed facility overlooking downtown and surrounding areas is divided into three neighbourhoods, a design which was first used in Ontario, and one which is more comfortable and enables our clients to make more of the decisions that affect their own lives. Clients who live at The Mira find it to be the ideal place for them to live as they generally require nursing care and assistance or supervision with their activities of daily living.

Clients who live at The Mira enjoy the activity program which keeps them enthused and involved with their neighbours. For their convenience there is also a hair salon, library, multi-denominational chapel and a physiotherapy and occupational therapy exercise area in the facility. Healthy meals and snacks are all prepared under the direction of our nutritionist and are enjoyed in our beautifully decorated dining areas.

For the convenience of those who we care for, as well as individuals in the community who we can assist, The Mira has a Peritoneal Dialysis unit as well as a dental office for seniors.
 
The Mira was constructed in 1999 by GEM's independent construction arm, Mahpal Developments.
