Welcome to Glades Lodge
Located in Halifax, Glades Lodge is Nova Scotia's first licensed nursing home, and one that has been chosen by the Nova Scotia Dept of Health to be reconstructed under their Continuing Care Initiative to replace the province's aging long term care facilities.

Until June of 2011 Glades has been home to 124 clients who require nursing care and assistance or supervision in performing their activities of daily living. In June 2011, 58 of these residents moved to their new home at White Hills in Hammonds Plains and the remaining 66 will move to The Admiral in Dartmouth when construction is complete and the facility is ready for occupancy in Spring 2012.

Clients who live at Glades Lodge enjoy the activity program which keeps them enthused and involved with their neighbours. For their convenience, there is also a hair salon, library, multi-denominational chapel and a physiotherapy and occupational therapy exercise area in the facility. Healthy meals and snacks are all prepared under the direction of our nutritionist and are enjoyed in our beautifully decorated dining areas.

Glades was acquired by GEM Health Care Group in 1982 and has since contributed to setting the standard of long term care in Nova Scotia through GEM's evolutionary initiatives.
