Constructed in 1991 by GEM Health Care, Melville Gardens is a
beautiful combination of a Residential Care and Level 2 Care
Facility licensed by the Department of Health. Residents of
Melville Gardens find it to be the ideal place for them to be,
because they enjoy many of the amenities which they are used to
at home.
In the Residential Care Facility, the well-appointed, private and semi-private suites can be furnished for you, and include cable television and telephone connections, as well as an emergency nurse station calling system, should assistance from one of our health care professionals be required. This also provides an increased sense of security in knowing that while they are living alone, any residents who require help have it right at their door.
The Level 2 Nursing Care Facility has all of the health care
professionals required to ensure our residents are living
enjoyable and meaningful lives.
We understand that beginning a new phase of life can be unsettling, especially alone, so from the moment a resident arrives, we provide a warm, caring welcome, and ensure that he/she gets anything we are able to provide them with. In attending to their needs, our staff makes every effort to accommodate the various routines, habits, and tastes that our residents have been previously accustomed to.
The staff at Melville Gardens is committed to providing their residents with a stress free retirement experience, which includes providing services that people who are living alone need performed, but are unable to carry out them self. Generally, this includes meal preparation, linen changes, and a personal laundry service. Each day our professionally certified cooking staff prepares three well balanced meals and two snacks focusing on a healthier dining experience, and served in our three beautifully designed dining areas. Other services available for the convenience of our residents include a library with many best sellers, a chapel serving many denominations, and an on site hair salon.
We also have plenty of activities for our residents
of both care levels to ensure that they realize the most uplifting experience possible. Whether it be going for dinner on the town in our new access bus, a game of cards with new friends, a stroll around the property on our beautifully landscaped walking paths, or some of the many other activities organized by our full time recreation director, residents are free to enjoy as many events as they prefer.

Residential and Level 2 Care Facility is located in the Melville Retirement Community, alongside Melville Heights Independent Living Facility and Melville Lodge Long Term Care Center. Also conveniently located within the community is Melville Ridge Professional Center, which contains a drugstore, as well as a physician, physiotherapist, and a denturist, who are available by appointment.
