Located in Amherst, NS, Gables Lodge Long Term Care Center is a single floor, 95 bed nursing facility, which has been accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services. It has been carefully planned and designed to provide each resident with an enhanced level of nursing care.

The staff at Gables Lodge, under the leadership of their administrator Mrs Kathy Maltby, is committed to providing the most uplifting and healthy lifestyle possible, to both the residents, as well as their families, giving them the peace of mind that their loved ones are being looked after by Gables' professional health care staff.

The staff at Gables also strives to provide the most stress free living experience possible. Our full time recreation director ensures that there is always something for them to do, allowing them to be as active as they prefer. Whether it be card games with new friends, movie nights, strolls around the beautiful walking paths, or outings for dinner and shopping, we are confident that Gables Lodge is the place that provides the most uplifting experience to the mature adults of the Amherst area. We are dedicated to providing post acute, respite and palliative care services to the community. We respect the dignity and individuality of those we serve in a personal, caring and non discriminatory manner. During the past year Gables Lodge has made several improvements to the services it provides to its clients. These include the addition of a generator system for the entire facility, the installation of a wireless nurses call system, and a “ Watch Mate” wander protection system for the main entrance of the facility to alert nursing staff of residents who are at risk of elopement. In addition, for the comfort of our residents, we have replaced the manual beds with electric ones, as well as replaced the flooring in all clients' rooms.
